Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Weigh Safe pintle hitch with built-in scale for your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. Now one of the standout features of this hitch is the built-in tongue weight scale. So instead of guessing if your trailer is loaded right, you're gonna know every time you hook up. That's going to help eliminate the need for separate or commercial scales and it's gonna make towing a lot safer, meaning you're gonna have less sway, better braking, and way more peace of mind. Now this is a serious piece of hardware.
This is rated up to 22,000 pounds and it has a maximum tongue weight of 2,200 pounds. So this is gonna be a great match for heavy duty trucks and big trailers. This pintle hitch is going to be compatible with lunette rings of all sizes and it's gonna be able to be easily swapped from a pintle hook to a ball mount. This does not include the balls. We do have hits that include the balls.
For instance, here's Weigh Safe's two inch ball that would slide into that platform. So if you are wanting the hitch with the balls included, you can find that here at etrailer.com or you can give us a call and we can point you in the right direction. But let me show you just how easy this is gonna be to use. I'm gonna remove that tethered safety pin and clip. We've got a lever here that I'm going to pull back and then that's going to allow me to lift that up, drop the lunette ring there and then just push that down.
It's gonna be secured shut and then I'm just gonna replace that safety pin and clip and we're ready to tow that trailer with the lunette ring. So that's how easy this is going to be. This is going to give you about a six inch drop. You're not going to, this is not gonna be able to be used in the rise position, but that drop is gonna help you keep your trailer level with like taller trucks. And I'm just going to insert the key here to unlock and remove this dual pin slider lock.
You are going to get two keys and so that's going to allow me then to easily adjust that height that I need. And then I'm gonna remove the shank here real quick. I just wanted to show you that there's a pin in this platform. It's got a key ring on there, so I'm able to pull that out. And then that's going to allow me to remove that pinhole hook attachment that I can go ahead and put a Weigh Safe, a two inch or 2 5/16 inch ball there. And if you do use this with the ball, this does come with a little cap here that you can use to plug up that hole to keep water and debris out of that. But that hole is for the rear part of this pintle hook attachment, slides in. But I hope you can see just if you're not familiar with Weigh Safe, just how easy this is to get this swapped out with that height adjustment that you're looking for. And then this dual pin slider lock will keep everything locked into place. Let ne see if I can line those holes up so we're inside and then turn that key. And then the cap's gonna keep that keyway nice and clean, protected from water, debris, things like that. Now this is also, it has very, a very serious build quality. It's all steel and it then has a matte black powder coat finish to help protect this against corrosion. So this is gonna hold up really well for you. And just to give you some overall measurements from the center of about the center of our pintle hook to the center of our first hitch pin hole, we're about eight inches. Moving to the center of the second hitch pin hole, maybe a little over nine inches or so. And then from the center of the second hitch pin hole to the end of the shank, right about two and three eights inches. So again, this is going to slide into your two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver. Weighs about 35 pounds. Now I wanted to point out, in case you we inchesre wondering, the pintle attachment is not going to be compatible with the aluminum Weigh Safe drop hitch. And so this was specifically designed to be used with the steel product line from Weigh Safe, just so you're aware of that. So if you've got a like a three quarter ton or one ton truck with a two and a half inch trailer hitch receiver and you tow heavy equipment, large campers or work trailers a lot, this hitch is gonna be a rock solid choice. You're always going to know what your tongue weight's going to be. And so this is gonna be a great choice If you're not hauling heavier loads like that or larger trailers like that, we do have a two inch option as well for your two inch trailer hitch receiver. And again, we do have this available with balls included as well. So if this isn't exactly what you're looking for, like I said earlier, give us a call. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
